8 Hour Slow Cooked Beef Chilli

A classic dish made easier and tastier with the help of a slow cooker. Slow cook for 8 hours for a rich and delicious chilli.


For the chilli:

  • 2 Onions, medium dice
  • 1 Red bell pepper, medium dice
  • 3 Garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 Red Chilli’s, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp. Chili powder
  • 1 tbsp. Ground Cumin
  • 2 lbs. Lean Beef mince
  • 2 tsp. Salt and pepper
  • 1tin. Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 Carton Passata
  • 300ml Beef stock
  • 1 tin Kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tsp. Sugar

For serving:

  • Grated cheese
  • Soured cream
  • Chopped Parsley
  • Tortilla Chips
  • ½ Jar Jalapenos


  1. Throw all the chilli ingredients into the slow cooker and give it a really good stir then place the lid on and leave on medium
  2. After 8 hours check the taste and adjust accordingly
  3. Serve it with on top of tortilla chips with a good blob of soured cream, guacamole, grated cheese, a few jalapeno slices and a sprinkle of parsley. A great family supper!!
