Braised Brisket of Beef

A melt in your mouth dish; ideal for meat lovers!

Ingredients
  • 375g brisket
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 12.5g butter
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 carrot, finely chopped
  • 75ml beef stock
  • 1/2 bay leaf
  • Flour or cornflour to thicken

Method

  1. Season the meat, then press the SAUTÉ button
  2. Heat the butter in the bowl, then brown the meat
  3. Transfer meat to a plate
  4. Sauté the onion and carrot with a little oil in the bowl until the onion is transparent
  5. Add stock and bay leaf, then press the KEEP WARM/CANCEL button
  6. Press the PASTA button and bring to the boil
  7. Add the meat, then press the KEEP WARM/CANCEL button
  8. Press the SLOW COOK button and cook for 8 hours
  9. Remove the meat to a serving dish, then press the KEEP WARM/CANCEL button
  10. Press the PASTA button
  11. Blend a little flour with cold water to make a paste, then bring to the boil, stirring
  12. Adjust the seasoning and serve the gravy with the meat
