A comforting dessert that all of the family can enjoy.
500g pudding rice, well rinsed in cold water
3L full fat milk
120g caster sugar
6g vanilla extract
3g ground nutmeg
200ml double cream
Put all of the ingredients (except the cream) into the slow cooker bowl. Put the bowl on the hob and bring it to a simmer, stirring at regular intervals to avoid the mix sticking to the bottom.
Put the bowl into the slow cooker and cook on the high setting for 2-3 hours. Once cooked, give the rice a good stir, warm the cream and stir it into the rice. Replace the lid and cook on the high setting for another ½ hour.
